Leasing a display, or mounting a permanent system

Sharp leases you a display for the season instead of selling you a box of lights. A permanent track system is the other option, but it is bolted to the fascia in July.

You do not buy the lights

Sharp owns and maintains every bulb, clip and strand. The lease covers the install, support, takedown and storage.

Your price is locked for three seasons

Your price is set per season and held for three seasons. Half is due when you accept the quote and half at installation. In later seasons the first half is due October 15.

How the three seasons end

After the third season the term renews unless you cancel in writing 30 days before it ends. Ending early costs half the remaining balance.

Warm white, or five colors

Warm white is the default, and it is what most of the houses on this page are wearing. If you want color, Sharp multicolor is red, green, blue, orange and purple, alternated along the peaks and the eaves.

Colors are chosen before install day, and changing your mind is fine. Mini strands switch colors for free, and the larger roofline bulbs cost 50 cents a bulb to switch during your first three seasons. The display comes on by itself at dusk and shuts off at bedtime.

Sharp is a licensed and insured provider, and yes, our trained crews handle the ladder and the roofline so nobody in your family has to. Nobody from your household goes up there in November, and nobody has to go back up in January either.

How far in advance do I need to book to be lit by December 1st?

Confirm your estimate with a card on file by November 15. That’s the cutoff for the December 1st Guarantee. Spots fill in the order they’re reserved, so booking earlier gives you more choice of install dates. Book by November 1 and we hang it by November 15, which is how people get lit before Thanksgiving.

Do you install permanent Christmas lights?

No. Sharp installs seasonal displays only. Permanent track systems are a real option and some Sioux Falls homeowners like them, but they stay on the house year round. Ours go up for the season, get serviced while they’re up, then come down and get stored.
